Warehouse and plant layouts are usually optimised against a drawing. The drawing rarely records the sprinkler drop that steals 400 mm of clear height over aisle four, or the column that is 150 mm off grid.
Plan against the building you have
A single scanning pass gives you the whole envelope: floor flatness, clear height at every point, the true position of every column, duct and service run. Layout options can then be tested against that envelope rather than against an idealised one.
Typical questions this answers
- How many additional pallet positions fit if we move to narrow-aisle racking?
- Where exactly does clear height fall below the minimum for this MHE?
- Will this machine and its maintenance envelope fit through the access route, around every corner, without dismantling it?
- What is the real usable floor area, net of obstructions?
Because the point cloud is retained, later questions can be answered without another site visit.
